TO SEE WHAT
THE LIFE OF
HENNA LOOKS
LIKE

Henna is a paste created by the crushed leaves of henna plants, which
have a natural staining ability, and added ingredients such as teas and
herbs.

The use of the paste to create body decoration, or "Mehndi Art,"
originated in India. Mehndi art has been used in India, Africa, and the
Middle East for thousands of years and has long been used as a spiritual
art to decorate the skin of brides for their marriage ceremonies. But, it
has taken on a much more contemporary flair since it entered the tattoo
industry here in the states about a decade ago. Giving the ability to
create as individual and detailed a design as an ink tattoo without the
permanency is causing henna tattoos to grow in popularity. They give all
the fun of a tattoo without the commitment.

THE HENNA TATTOO PROCESS;

Our paste is all natural and completely safe even for children. Our
henna consists of only the powder of crushed henna
leaves, eucalyptus oil, and / or tea tree oil, and lemon juice. NO
CHEMICALS ARE ADDED. Please advise me if you have sensitive skin.
Henna is NEVER black. The paste is a green color when it is wet and
when  it dries it looks black, but the paste will peel off and the stain will
be on the skin.
I do NOT and will NOT (even upon request) use "black henna" because I
am committed to my customer's safety. "Black henna" is not henna at all.
It is actually harsh chemicals like hair dye the can burn and scar you. BE
WARE Mexico regularly uses "black henna" on tourists.
The paste is applied to the skin in a freehand drawing fashion. After
drying in  20 to 90 minutes (depending on the thickness of the paste)  it
crackles, flakes and falls off leaving your
tattoo on your skin. Let the dried paste fall off on it's own. Henna paste is
a dye and the longer it is left on the skin, the more layers of skin become
stained by it. The design will darken over the first 24 hours to its natural
reddish brown color. Reacting with the pigments in various skin types, it
will turn more brown on lighter skin and more red on darker skin. The
tattoo will remain until all the stained layers of skin naturally ex foliate. It
will last from 2 to 4 weeks making Henna Tattoos the longest form of
temporary tattoos available.
